Adrienne R. Bartholomew

Adrienne R Bartholomew, 84, a cherished member of the Middleburgh community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Basett Medical Center in Cooperstown surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Schenectady on July 11, 1941, Adrienne was the daughter of the late William and Rita (Reynolds) Neiles and sister to the late William C. Neiles. She grew up in Middleburgh and was a proud graduate of Middleburgh Central School.  A fond memory included being crowned Queen at her High School Prom. 

Adrienne dedicated her professional life to serving others. Her career began in local healthcare, working for doctors including Dr. Riley, Dr. Greenwald and Dr. Greenlees in Cobleskill, followed by a period at the Department of a Health. She found her calling at Middleburgh Central School, where she became the beloved elementary school secretary, a role she held until her retirement. Her commitment to her community extended to volunteer work as an EMT for MEVAC in Middleburgh for several years. 

A woman of deep faith, Adrienne was a devout Catholic and an active member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Middleburgh. On December 14, 1958, she married the love of her life, Howard A. Bartholomew at St. Catherine's Church in Middleburgh, with whom she built a lifetime of memories. Howard predeceased her on September 1, 2017.

Adrienne's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family, faith, and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Her loving family includes her children: Kelly Fancher, Michael Bartholomew, Lenora Piragnoli, Susan Bartholomew and beloved member of the family; John Sieni; her grandchildren: Daniel (Jennie), LeeAnne (Alfred), James, Kayla (Daniel), Andrew, Kimberly(Mike), Elizabeth, Nicholas, Emily; her great-grandchildren: Sophia, Nevaeh, Sawyer, Adrienne, Serenity, Bella, Windham, Evan, Danica, Shea; her many nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law.

Visiting hours will be held from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River street, Middleburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 19,2025 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street, Middleburgh.  Interment will be in Breakabeen Cemetery. A reception will take place at Middle Village Pasta & Grill, Main Street, Middleburgh from 1:00-3:00PM.
